Eden and Everly 6 Months

What!? Is anyone else as shocked by this as I am? Our littles are 6 months old!! I feel like it was yesterday that I was desperately trying to wrap my head around the fact that these two would be arriving soon. I was planning and preparing and contemplating and then they arrived and it was nothing like I thought it would be, but so much better! We have survived and even thrived at times. I am so lucky to have these girls in my life. I am so glad that there is a plan outside of my control that has allowed these girls to be ours.

Here are some things we notice about the girls together:
*They take three naps a day
*They sleep from 8-7 at night
*They nurse 6 times a day
*They are getting more and more vocal
*They are laughing
*They are really into looking at each other and touching each other
*They are happier when they can see or hear each other
*They have tried rice cereal
*They wear 6 month clothes
*They wear size 2 diapers
*They poop once every other day usually
*They fall asleep very easily in the Ergo carrier
*They are working on holding and shaking toys
*They are having a little stranger anxiety not all the time, but every once in a while especially if   they are tired

Here are some things we notice about Eden:
*She loves to be around mom and dad
*She loves to squawk like a pterodactyl
*She loves to nurse
*She is still obsessed with Tim. If he is in the room she will do nothing but stare at him.
*She is feisty
*She is rolling from her stomach to her back and is close to doing it the other way
*She is still on prev acid for reflux
*She does not love to have a poopy diaper
*We think she weighs around 14.5 lbs but her appointment isn't until next week
*She is content to just look around and see new things usually
*She usually wakes up first from her nap
*She sleeps more soundly at night than Everly
*She has a hard time regulating her temperature and gets really hot really quickly
*She has eased up on the drooling some
*She is super ticklish around the neck
*She was not a huge fan of rice cereal, but we will keep trying

Here are some things we notice about Everly:
*She loves Ellasen and will instantly get happy when she pays attention to her
*She loves to grab her toes
*She puts everything in her mouth including toes, toys, Eden's fingers etc
*She still only wants a soothie pacifier. I think we have given up offering her the other kind
*She rolls over to her stomach as soon as you lay her on her back
*She is obsessed with the jumpy. She gets so excited to be in there, and she is so good at it!
*She has become a finicky nurser. She only likes to nurse if Eden is there and the milk is fast
*She is very go with the flow and easy going
*She is starting to make more sounds that feel like they are the beginning sounds of talking. She sounds like she is having a little conversation with herself
*She can blow raspberries
*She is still working on that bottom tooth. It just won't quite pop through
*She weighs 14.25 lbs
*She liked the rice cereal
*She naps more soundly than Eden

What's The Haps

We have really been doing a little more of the same these last few weeks with one exception. Tim and I left the kids (the twins for the first time) to go to Atlanta to find a new home. It was a really quick trip, just two nights, but we had a great time! Tim's new practice put us up at a fabulous hotel and took us out to dinner. We ordered room service, slept in and saw some friends. Oh yes, and we found a house too!

We are just renting, but we signed a 30 month lease! We will be there for the next two and a half years! We really love the house, and we are super excited about the neighborhood and all the extra space.

We got new high chairs!!

We celebrated Father's Day, Tim's birthday and my dad's birthday with some fun. The guys got to go have straight razor shaves at a local barber shop and hit golf balls at Chelsea Piers. You have probably seen this in the movies. It is a four tiered driving range over looking the river. They had a great time.

We celebrated Father's Day when my parents were here, but we had to do a little something on the actual day! We gave Tim a bag of his favorite goodies and some homemade cards.

The girls and I only have a few weeks left in NYC. School ends this week, and our helpers move away next week. We are sad to be winding down our time here, but we are so excited to start a new chapter in our new city!
