Monthly Update June

Well, I missed one. It was bound to happen especially during the busy summer weeks where we are all off schedule and life seems to move faster and slower all at the same time. My OCD will force me to back date this post so nothing will seem out of place, but for all the one of you who read my blog monthly I am admitting I missed the June update. By a lot. We can almost see August over here. Anyway, nothing to do now but post the pictures and fudge the date stamp and hope I haven't disappointed all of my readers.

We started June out with Eden's surgery. She had her tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes put in her ears. My mother-in-law came down to help take care of Ellasen and Everly while we spent the night at the hospital. Eden did great, and we are so glad we got it done. We are already seeing the benefits.

We took the video below after Eden had the medicine to help keep her calm and slightly sedated before being wheeled into the operating room. We thought she was so cute!

Finally ready to play a little

Really feeling good

Ready to bust out of the hospital
Our friends brought over a huge Minnie Mouse balloon the next day to help cheer Eden up. Everyone loved it especially Eden.

While Eden was doing a lot of resting with Mom...

Ellasen and Everly did a lot of playing with Grandma!

Eventually Eden got back to normal and so did the rest of us!  Here are some more pictures from June.

Eden stayed home with me the first week of Summer Camp, but Ellasen and Everly had a great time!

We made our own fun at home

The girls have an awesome new babysitter who is amazing at hair!

"Cheese"

We spent a ton of time at swim team this month for Ellasen. Every morning! She is getting really good though! She loves to swim!

Eden and Everly are 2 and 1/2

A lot has changed for our girls in the last 6 months! These two are best friends most of the time, and while their personalities are very different they seem to compliment each other well. They definitely can fight over toys and have a little jealousy when it comes to mommy time, but they genuinely love each other and enjoy spending time together. Watching them grow and change and become little people is so much fun!

At 2.5 Eden is very independent. She is happy playing by herself doing her own thing. She is confident and smart. She has the best smile and laugh and she is always trying to be silly. Her favorite color is blue and if there is a blue option of something that's the one she wants. Eden loves to wears skirts and be fancy. Dressing up in costumes is one of her favorite activities. She refuses to get her nails painted though. She loves playing in the water. Whether it is the pool, the bath or the water table playing in the water is one of her favorite things to do. Eden is still a bit of a bully. She pretty much wants whatever anyone else is playing with at the moment. She is getting better at asking instead of taking, but sometimes her basic instinct is still to just grab. Eden is very easy going in a lot of ways, but definitely has an obstinate streak. She knows all her colors, but regularly calls green red. She also has a hard time if we hold up a green object and a red object and ask her choose the green one. We wonder if she might be red green color blind.
Eden loves to dance and sing. If she is cold or tired or sad she asks for "nunnels" which is a combination of nuzzles and snuggles. It basically means she wants to climb on my lap, lay on my chest and bury her head in my neck. She does this to Tim too. She never stays long, but it is always nice while it lasts. She is continuing with her physical therapy, working on jumping and going up and down stairs while alternating feet. Eden recently had her tonsils and adenoids out and tubes put in her ears. We think this will improve many things for her including eating, sleeping, breathing, hearing and talking.
Eden weighs 25.5 lbs and is just under 34 inches tall. Her favorite character is Elsa, her favorite song is "Wheels on the Bus", her favorite book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar and her favorite food is pasta.

At 2.5 Everly is constantly talking. She can pretty much communicate anything she wants at this point. She still has moments of frustration, but for the most part because she can convey what she wants she has stopped having tantrums so much. She has even been known to translate for Eden. Everly loves to do what everyone else is doing. She is a total people person. She loves to be with people all the time. She can usually be found tagging along after Ellasen or Eden and copying the things they do. Everly loves to feel included and a part of the group. She likes to be a part of Ellasen's little plays or dances. Everly likes for everyone to be happy and peaceful. She often gives up whatever she is playing with or using to Eden if Eden wants it. She just wants everyone to have fun. Everly's favorite activity is coloring. She loves to make beautiful pictures or even just pretend to write with as pencil. She switches which hand she uses to write with and seems to be equally skilled with both. We wonder if she will be ambidextrous like Tim. She still loves to eat. She has tried so many foods it is hard to keep track. She will pretty much try anything you give her and hasn't found much she doesn't like. She also still loves to be carried, but she is getting more and more confident all the time. She and Ellasen started summer camp a few weeks ago. (Eden hasn't gone yet because of her surgery.) She seems to really love school and is enjoying feeling like a big girl.
Everly weighs 27 lbs and is just over 35 inches tall. Her favorite character is Anna, her favorite song is "Itsy Bitsy Spider", her favorite book is Minnie Mouse Baby Animals and her favorite food is everything.

These two light up our whole world while making every day a little more challenging and a lot more fun. We love them to the moon and back, and we can't wait to see what the next 6 months has in store for them!
