Monthly Update August 2017

We had another busy month in our house this August! We started the month with Meet the Teacher night at Ellasen's new school. We got to meet her 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Dugas as well as look around her media center, her science lab and her school farm. She seems most excited about the huge collection of Boxcar Children books in the media center.

Then the girls and I celebrated an epic last day of summer! We had ice cream and went to Catch Air which is like a big maze of climbing and riding activities.

Tim's mom was here early in the month recovering from knee replacement surgery. While she was here the girls and I baked her a double layer chocolate cake for her birthday. It was delicious!

Then it was finally time for Ellasen's first day of 2nd Grade! She had a great first day, and she was a total pro at getting on the bus!

Cute neighborhood bus stop kiddos!

This month we experienced the Great American Eclipse! We were in 98.9% totality, but it turns out that since the sun is so incredibly bright (who knew?!) our area stayed pretty bright. We had our glasses on though and we could see the moon pass over the sun. It really was cool even if it didn't get very dark!

Despite school starting, we are still very much enjoying the summer weather around here. We spend a lot of time at our pool with friends. I hope we can go into October!

Tim has had a couple of articles published this month. One in the local newspaper, the Forsyth Herald and one in a local magazine called 400 The Life. So cool!

Eden and Everly had Meet the Teacher and open house for their 3's preschool at the end of this month. They are super excited to go to school three days a week!

In this months edition of silly sleepers we have three entries! One is me with Gunner! He likes to sneak into our bed.

Here's some more August cuteness!

Next month we have some big things happening! The twins start school tomorrow! We have a trip to Michigan planned, Tim and I are going to the Georgia/Notre Dame game, we have a big surprise planned for the girls for fall break and we have some home makeovers we are excited to get going on. Bring on FALL!
