March 2020

Wow. What a different world we are living in from last month's post. It is unbelievable how different our lives have become over the last 30 days. The Corona Virus - Covid 19 has drastically altered the picture of our lives. The girls have now been out of school for 17 days. We are homeschooling and doing online learning. We are having weekly (twins) or daily (Ellasen) meetings with their teachers on the computer. We haven't left the house in 17 days. We haven't seen my parents or Tim's dad in 17 days or really anyone else except to wave from across the street on our walk or golf cart ride. Tim's schedule has been drastically reduced as he is only doing emergency or urgent surgical cases. Many counties around us are under a shelter in place order. Our trips in April and May have all been canceled. There is no tennis, no baseball, no dance, no vacations, no swimming, no nail or hair or groomer appointments. We are watching the news more than ever and wondering if we are going to have enough groceries and toilet paper to make it to the end of this. We are scared and it is overwhelming all-day every day. But there have been some positives!
We have been doing a lot of baking!

We are spending tons of time with Gunner who is loving having his people home!

We have had good weather so we have had lots of fun outside including playing with the hose and running in the sprinklers!

Our neighborhood has had some fun social distancing ideas. We have had a shamrock hunt, a teddy bear hunt and a "chalk your walk".

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day at home, but the leprechaun still came! Our trap almost caught him!

The girls have been doing so well with online learning. It was definitely a little tricky at first, but I think we have the hang of it now!

Same goes for me. I have been seeing my friends on Google Meets or Zoom. It isn't the same, but it is something!

Before all of this the girls' had book character day at school. The twins dressed up like Fancy Nancy and Pinkalicious. They had so much fun parading around the school. Ellasen's 4th grade turned it into a wax museum where students had to stand in the hallway and give a short speech about their person whenever their "button" was pressed. Ellasen was Jane Goodall and did a great job!

Here are some more random pictures from the month. Some are from before the social distancing orders.

Who knows what next month will bring. We know it will look a lot like the second half of this month because the kids are out of school for all of April. It really is a crazy time we are living in right now. I hope by May our lives will be back to normal.
