Monthly Update November

Once again, it feels like we have had a busy month! After Halloween was over Ellasen put out most of her candy for the Switch Witch. The Switch Witch came and brought her a gem mining kit! She played with it every night for almost two weeks! She had so much fun with it.

The weather has been really hit or miss this month. We had two solid weeks of rain and then a few gorgeous days peppered in there. Whenever we could we got out and enjoyed the weather.

Many days though it felt like we were making due with indoor activities.

We had some visitors this month too! My best friend, Lizzy brought her sweet baby Ivy for me to snuggle.

And my parents also came for two weeks! I didn't take nearly enough pictures, but we had a great time!

We took my parents to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for the Christmas light show.

Ellasen had her 6 year old well child visit, and she is healthy as a horse!

We topped off the month with a visit to Santa! Everyone did pretty well, but Everly melted down about 2 seconds after the family photo was taken.

Eden and Everly 23 Months!

So I am a little late on this one! We have had company and have been planning and executing a big sister's birthday party so we are a little behind! This is the last monthly post before the twins turn 2! These two are a whirlwind of energy, ideas, volume, silliness, wants, needs and love. Most of the days I feel like two tornadoes have spent the day buzzing around my feet all day long. They sweet and sensitive and cuddly one minute and fighting, screaming balls of frustration the next. We are definitely entering the terrific twos. They continue to be very different from one another in many ways. This makes certain things harder (like meal planning and sleep schedules) and certain things easier (like cuddles and sharing). Both girls are talking and understanding more and more every week. This month for the first time I have felt like I could take them to the playground alone without another adult.

It is basically impossible to get a good picture of the girls by themselves let alone together. The minute one looks up the other does a belly flop. This was the best I could do this month!

Here are some things we notice about the girls together:
*They sleep from 7-7:30
*Nap from 1-3:30
*Love to play in their playroom or the playroom at the gym
*Like to do things themselves (shoes/socks etc)
*Are pretty good with a spoon and fork
*Love to listen to books and music
*Love to dance
*Love Ellasen and all her toys
*Love Minnie Mouse, Elmo, Animals and Dora

Here are some things we notice about Eden:
*She is still a pickier eater
*Her favorite foods are pasta, crackers, yogurt, milk, cheese and strawberries
*She loves television
*She really has no fear...she is full speed ahead most of the time
*She loves to dance
*She will sit for a long time to play with some thing she is interested in
*Wants whatever toy Everly has

Here are some things we notice about Everly

*She is in constant motion always jumping or running
*She loves food and her favorites are too many to count
*She is not a fan of turkey dogs
*She loves to do silly things to make people laugh
*She wants to be held all the time
*She loves big kids and will often ask about Ellasen or neighborhood older kids
*She loves to color
*She shares nicely most of the time
*She gets bored of television after a minute or two
*She loves to "hide" from mommy and run around my kitchen island

These two are a constant flurry of activity, but we wouldn't have it any other way! As soon as Thanksgiving is over we are going to plan a little party to celebrate these two turning two!!

Ellasen's 6th Birthday Party

We were lucky that Ellasen's 6th birthday fell on a Saturday so we were able to have her party on her actual birthday! We rented out a room at Get Air which is a trampoline park. We invited a bunch of friends, and we all had a great time! Ellasen wanted her theme to be rainbow so I picked out a rainbow of cupcakes, had rainbow fruit skewers and did a rainbow themed candy and favor bar for all the kids. We had a family birthday cake later too! I think Ellasen had a very special day!

We had a great time celebrating this not so little one! We are so proud of her and we can't wait to see what this year brings for her!
