Merry Christmas!

We are absolutely in love with new little ones. They are the happiest, easiest babies ever! We know that they are newborns (and preemies) so that will probably change. Breastfeeding is going amazingly well. I had a nurse in the hospital tell me I should teach a class on twin breastfeeding. Breastfeeding didn't go very well with Ellasen so success in this area is very new to me. I am thrilled to be able to provide my girls with comfort and nourishment in a way that doesn't completely take over my entire life. I feed them simultaneously almost always so it doesn't take too long. They usually feed for 30-40 minutes and then sleep for 1.5-2.5 hours. Most of the time we have to wake them up to feed them! We usually have 1 or 2 rough feeding sessions a day where someone won't latch or is too hungry, but for the most part we feel really successful. I have a ton of help and support which makes a huge difference I think. So far here are some things we notice about the girls:
Eden:
Eden has a full head of dark hair and some angel kisses (red marks) on her face and nose. The doctors say they will fade soon. She looks a lot like me when I was born. She is the most likely of the twins to end up with brown eyes though they are blue now. She seems to be the better sleeper and eater probably because she is bigger. She is very content pretty much anywhere.
Everly:
Everly looks a lot like Ellasen did when she was born. She has hair but it is lighter and thinner. She has the softest skin of any baby I have ever felt. She is a little harder to feed some of the time, but we do get better results if we feed her before she is hungry. If she gets worked up we have a hard time getting her calm enough to latch.
We are in love with both of them, and Ellasen is adjusting really well. A ton of attention from Nana, Papa and Grandma has helped I am sure!
