Monthly Update March

March has been a crazy month especially for the weather! We have had snow and 80 degrees all in the last 30 days!  This month has included a lot of family time, some tennis time for me because I recently joined a league again, some time with Grandma and some much needed time with my girlfriends.

We went to a party for our friends Lizzy and Drew where they found out the gender of their first baby! It's a girl!! I am so excited to share this with Lizzy! Girls are amazing, and now I get to pass on a ton my my cute stuff! I am so excited to add this new chapter to our 15 year old friendship!

Our friends were moving, during a snow storm with a brand new baby so I offered to take their older kids for a play date. We painted pictures for their new play room.

We made Olaf snow cones

I painted a little something for them too!

We made chocolate chip cookies

Enjoying our cookies!

Yum!

We got a "huge" snow storm! Isn't that cute!

Ellasen had a fun week at school for Dr. Suess's birthday. She got to dress up a different way each day. Monday was pajama day.

Birthday party for Sydney

It was parent watch day at ballet and gymnastics on Monday. Ellasen did a great job! I didn't get any pictures of the gymnastics because she was pretty far away, but here are a couple from ballet class.

Everly has been learning some new faces. Tim calls this one "Bulldawg"

We have been looking at some different summer day camps for Ellasen. On this day we were touring an outdoor adventure camp. This is the outfit that Ellasen thought worked for that. I'm not sure she understood the concept.

This is a picture off the video monitor in Eden and Everly's room. They love to play at nap time. It is super cute to hear them giggling on the monitor!

I got a bad stomach bug over the weekend and our friends were sweet enough to take Ellasen for a few hours so I could rest a little. Little did we know that she would get that same bug about 12 hours later (5 hours after this picture) and that Everly would get it just after that. We felt terrible for exposing their family, but they got lucky and didn't get it! So thankful for great friends!

Speaking of great friends, Tim and his mom gave me a great gift in March! I got to go on the most amazing girls' trip with all my lovely friends from Tim's time in residency. We all moved in different directions after residency, and while we have been able to maintain all of our friendships it just hasn't been the same! We vowed to do a girls' trip once a year and this was the first one! We went to Austin, Texas and stayed at a resort and spa. We had really bad weather, but it didn't stop us from having an amazing time! My mother-in-law came down to help Tim with the kids and I got to get away for 4 days! It was amazing to see all these girls and I came home feeling super refreshed! We were missing a few of the OWC (Ortho Wives' Club) members, but our hope is to have at least this many or more every year!

The first night we went into downtown Austin for dinner. SXSW (a music and film festival) was going on so we didn't venture too far past our restaurant, but the food was amazing!

At our resort they pulled out the longhorns every day for people to see!

We threw a little surprise baby shower for Mel who is due with a boy soon! We were so glad we got to see her before she delivered! Throwing showers and taking care of new moms is a great OWC tradition, and while most of us still make an effort from afar, it was so fun to celebrate all together!

Emily makes amazing quilts for all the OWC babies (all three of my girls have beautiful ones) and this one is perfect for Baby Boy Kalisvaart!
After our little baby shower we headed for a day at the spa! We all got a combination of manis, pedis and massages. We got full use of the spa including the steam room, sauna and whirlpool. We ordered lunch, drank mimosas and just relaxed!

After our spa day we headed to San Antonio for a visit with Sari and her fourth baby, Walter! Sari had Walter on Wednesday so she wasn't able to make it down to Austin so we headed her way! We showered her with some gifts as well, got to meet baby Walter and catch up with her husband, Rob and their three other precious babies!

After visiting Sari we headed to the San Antonio River Walk for some BBQ! This picture doesn't really do it justice, but it was beautiful!

While on the River Walk I bought all three girls Fiesta Dresses! This is the traditional dresses worn by girls during the Fiesta celebration in Texas. I thought they were so pretty!

Overall March has been amazing! We are looking forward to an even better April! Spring is really in full swing around here, and we are super excited to enjoy some really warm weather!
